About Us

L2e Consulting, LLC has been providing quality continuing education and training for engineers since our founding in 1999. It is our mission to provide relevant material for today’s practicing engineer.

Lee Layton is the owner of L2e Consulting. Mr. Layton holds a BS in electrical engineering from Auburn University, an MBA from Keller Graduate School, and is a licensed professional engineer in Georgia. He has over 40 years experience in the electric utility industry. His areas of expertise include electric system design, planning, system operations, telecommunications, and system protection. He also has experience in financial and strategic planning.

He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Mr. Layton has been involved in research projects including serving on Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) committees and Cooperative Research Network (CRN) committees. He has taught numerous training courses for utility professionals. Mr. Layton has published numerous articles concerning utility operations in various trade publications and has developed over one hundred training courses on electric utility operations.
